Fuel Tank Capacity?

SLK250d.
Fuel gauge showing ¼ of a tank, I've just managed to get 61 litres in.
Nothing on the floor, no smells etc.
Every where I've looked says 60 litre tank capacity.
It's a bugger to fill my car ,I still haven't dealt with the vent blockage.
Did some cars have bigger tanks?
I'm 100% certain mine has!

I've seen another thread a while back that mentions 70l on a diesel.

So perhaps warm fuel in tank - optimistic gauge - 70l tank and fill with cold fuel up to filler neck

Or an accurate gauge and 80l tank ?

It will say the tank capacity of your individual car if you run it through a VIN decoder. Mine (212) shows as the bigger 80 litre version.... which is nice.
