93 220 TE smell of petrol corrosion junction filler and tank mileage 200k
plugged with epoxy ' petrol patch' seemingly OK before tank replacement. dismantler tank about £100.

I think what he is trying to say is that he has a 200k miles, 124 220TE and that he has or has had a fuel leak by the filler neck (common fault). I also think he is saying that he has repaired it using "Petrol Patch" (an epoxy repair media). I may be wrong though

Can't figure out the angry face though Ian ...

If he's telling us that he's managed to patch it and saved some money , surely there should be a smiley face ?

The way i read it was that he had a leak , the chap wanted to £100 to fix it, so he patched it ....

Still can't work out why he's angry though , i'd be chuffed if i'd saved a ton ...

Good point Howard, however the angry face is in the title, which I take to mean that he was angry when he discovered the leak. He could have put a smiley at the end of his post which would have said to me that he was pleased. Just a thought.

I think what he's saying is that although he did have the leak filled with epoxy type filler previously it has now started leaking again, a fact which caused him to be angry, hence the angry face!

hmm, ive used epoxy filler on a very hard to weld place on my W123 (deep inside the bonnet hinge area) and it has lasted over 5 years now, not sure how it would cope on a petrol tank though...

The plot thickens then  Better than a murder mystery. Come on Kaip let us all share your secret. :D
