Does my 1998 E200 has a feature to shutdown some functions if the battery voltage drops below a certain level?
I have narrowed down the possible causes to a problem which has, so far, occured 3 times.
The central locking and the front interior light stop working after not using the car for a few days. The problem will go away after I disconnect then reconnect the battery (The battery was not discharged and was able to start the car).
If the car has the feature I mentioned above, and the voltage-level detector is faulty, then not using the car for a few days will cause a small drop in the battery voltage which could be enough to activate the faulty detector.
Not sure if this is the cause, but I need to go through the elemination process.
