Well known brand in the states, but why go past tried and tested makes for Mercedes models such as bilstein boge sachs?

Although I have no personal experience I've heard of Gabriel dampers used for tuned cars, they are meant to be good quality.

The only hting I would check is that they are an exact match for your European spec car, as Gabriel are an American company so they might be comfort version.
