I've recently painted my garage floor, finished about 2 weeks ago, I chose to go down the two part epoxy route, which is fine, except it took 10 / 11 L for the first coat, while 5 or so should have done it ! its a 6 x 6m double garage, so I had to order another 5L, not cheap I hasten to add.
I bought from paints 4 trade. com, who also sell on ebay, here is where my problem started, I ordered my 3rd 5L tin on the Thursday for next day delivery !
My wife stayed in all day, but it didn't arrive, I arrived home around 5pm, called them, and was assured it should have been delivered, and I was to contact the courier company !! which is almost impossible as there is NO local phone numbers, and calling the one and only number on their site just puts you through to a series of recorded messages I called paints 4 trade back, who eventually called thier own contact for courier co. (so I was told) I was then GUARANTEED that my paint would be delivered by midday the following day (Sat)
guess what ? it didn't arrive ! tried calling, but they were now closed,
I called on the Monday morning, and was assured i would get it that day before midday ! once again my wife stayed in all day, it didn't turn up till around 5pm
Now, this is where my problem really starts !! I applied the 2nd coat that evening, but, as I was just about finished it started to rain quite heavily, and as the rain was blowing into the garage I had to close the doors, one side was ok, as that it where I started, down one side, and back up the other, finishing at other door.
But, as careful as I was, trying not to let the rubber seal along the bottom of the door touch the floor when I closed it, it did, and when the door was opened following morning, the seal had stuck to the paint, peeling the paint of the entire width of said door, I have two single doors, the other was ok as that is where I started, so was sufficiently dry when door was closed.

Now, since then, I have contacted and spoken to same guy re getting /arranging a small sample type pot of same paint to go over this peeled section, he keeps saying to me, I'll sort something out, call me in the morning, and now, when I call and ask to speak with him, I am told yes no problem, what's your name, and then they come back and say he is busy and will call me back ! I called twice EVERY day last week, and I just get fobbed off, exactly the same way I was when my 2nd order didn't show on the Friday, again on the Saturday, and on the Monday

Now I shall just have to try and get something else, some where else, which of-course will be a totally different shade of gray !
My main gripe here is, I spent over £170 quid - £53 - odd per 5L X 3 (2 shouldve done, but that's another story) and about £12 - odd for 1L of epoxy resin thinners, and I do not want or need another 5L (53 quid) Tin.
If I had received this 2nd order - next day as promised, or even on the Sat, also as promised, AGAIN, this problem would NOT have happened as it didn't rain on these days / over the w/e !!

So, my point is, this company have NO customer relations, don't care about after sales service, or even perhaps keeping an existing customer for repeat custom !
So I strongly advise any purchase from this company, please be warned ! :(

Rant over.

Try the Peffer Paint Co. They have a place at the top of Telford Rd and @ Peffer Pl. Pretty helpful people. They will mix you a small pot of 'ordinary' paint to match your grey. I'm sure a small strip wont matter as long as the colour matches?

Sorry to hear that, and hope you get it sorted.

To rub salt in your wound, I bought 4 x 2.5ltr tins of garage floor paint on ebay for £18. Did my (extended) single garage with two coats, and barely started the third tin.

Why not get a friend to contact them with promise of a large commercial job but customer insists on seeing a sample patch first as it has to match existing. Dishonest but sounds like it will serve them right for their poor customer service.

WOW, an impressive rant.

The first coat took more because the concrete surface wasn't smooth and is porus...so has a larger surface area to cover, which is normal.

The door seal sticking is hardly the suppliers fault. Why didn't you tape it up off the floor?

ooh...thats spiteful....:D

OP...'fraid you are just going to have to live with it and make good the painted damage in the manner that best suits you.

O painted my garage floor about 8 years ago over a latex finish, lasted ok and though some parts lifted in a couple of years its only now looking completely ragged....I intend to install a tiled floor next...
