Garage recommendations for W124 servicing near Battersea (or Surrey etc?)

Hello all

First post, and I'm asking for help already!

Yesterday I picked up a tidy W124 E280. It's in need of a service and I'd like to take it to someone who knows that they're doing with the 124 but won't charge the earth.

I'm in Battersea, but am happy to travel.

I also have a 1987 BMW M5 which gets taken out to the Surrey / West Sussex border for servicing, so I'm happy to travel.

So any recommendations would be good.

A quick google has thrown up GSF Motorworks in Battersea. Does anyone have any experience of them?

Is it fair to assume all these come highly recommended? And do any of them offer particularly good vfm in your experience?

And I'd noticed PCS seem very highly regarded. So thanks to those who've suggested them here. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet and make the trip.

I don't have direct experience of any of them but have bought cars serviced by them & spoken to owners who use them

They've all been in business quite a few years which is usually a good recommendation

Did you have any luck with these guys? I have 2 124s looking for a service in South London. Any ideas on pricing would be much appreciated.

Olly at PCS maintains our 124. Truly excellent with older MBs and prices reasonable. Ours comes back from Italy for its annual service/MOT so SW London is not really that far.

Merc Medic have a good reputation with W124 and are easy to access off the A3 at Send in Surrey.

Try Steve at Klasse of Fulham, he looks after my C43 and W124 280 - he has a couple of W124's of his own and looks after a lot of them. I am based in Battersea too, if you see a stupidly loud C43 give me a honk!

Yes Olly or AMC Which i used when i lived in Battersea.

I used to use AMC who were great with my BMW - they are only 5 minutes from me on Garratt Lane in Earlsfield. I often drive past them and they continue to be busy. Speak to Graham or Rod.

Nothing bad to say about them - I just happen to have switched allegiance to PCS as I discovered Olly on this forum when I was looking for my current W210.

One thing I've seen on bills from AMC really struck me as a good idea. They do a "Pre-Winter" check which is a checkover for oil leaks, fluid levels, etc. I bought a 190 which had one of these each year followed by a service six months later. It seemed ideal for a car which covered very few miles. The check was £35 or £40 - and may well be more now - which is good value

Any garage can do the same but to offer it as a standard service is a bright idea

Be careful with SS Motors - they have just stitched me up as I took my eye of the ball.

You could also try Martin at Finch Motors in Brentford.

Martin is now the proud owner of Mr Bings old E500 so he has a special love for W124's.

Vinny now uses him also.

That's lots to be getting on with.

PCS seems to be leagues ahead, judging by their feedback here and on other threads.

AMC get some good reviews, so I'll see how they compare with PCS on price. The fact that AMC are so much closer to home is rather compelling.

I've used AMC for about 20 years now and so has my best friend. They're an excellent outfit and work hard to maintain their reputation.
