As I understand it the bolt snapped on removal.
He's already said he's gona get a guy that specialises in stud removal to look at it! But my main concern is who pays for this guy? And if he can't do it it who pays for the supply and fitting of the new head?

The point is that with any cars presenting at a garage for repairs, the quote is always based on what the actual problem is and assumes that everything will go according to plan and previous experience with the same repair But most quotes will contain the line "subject to strip and check". So basically, its your car, its your problem, unless you can prove negligence by the garage. Hopefully, it can be sorted either by drilling the stud out, or by fitting a HELICOIL, and you are spared the expense of fitting a new head, Best of luck, Jim.
