2017 E220d SE Premium Plus. I've been trying for some time without success to find out how to accept the offer of "Alternative Route Available saving xxxxmins" & seen various other posts with the same issue. 2 different MB dealers have been unable to offer a solution MB Customer Service same & of course Garmin disclaimed any support of the Map Pilot.
On a business trip today with route programmed as usual offers of time saving alternatives kept appearing. Each time one appeared I once again tried the various options suggested with no success. All of a sudden following an offer with left hand fiddling with the Controller a split screen appeared with the Alternative route details on the left & existing route details on the right with an offer to accept or continue underneath. Amazing. Not good to be fiddling & trying to drive safely & the best option would be to pull over first - not always possible. Anyway this is what I think I did:
1. Offer of new route appears
2. Press Central Controller & scroll down to Traffic
3. Select & a drop down menu appears with "Notifications" highlighted at the top
4. Click on "Notifications" & the split screen as described above appears
5 Select Alternative Route which is then recalculated
Why couldn't Garmin just have an "Accept" or "Ignore" option on the main screen?
No more offers were received for the rest of my journey but she did come up & say "Slow moving traffic ahead 6 mins delay" When I went through the above to check if it worked I got a screen saying "Your Route is already optimised" but gave the option to avoid the traffic anyway. So looks like a fix!! This issue has been irritating me for the 10 months that I have had the car. Hope this helps other Map pilot users
