GARMIN SD CARD

My s205.242 garmin sd card was 2015/16. Did research online and £24 vs £99 meant no contest. A few questions by email and I just installed my v15 update card. The 2021 maps include Russia... and they work. I just calculated a London - Moscow route no problem. Well pleased.

The £24 cards do not include live traffic.
The £99 one from the dealer includes three years live traffic.

Probably not, but I'm not fussed. I scout ahead with my mobile google maps for long journeys but mostly my traffic is kept off.

A bit of an update: Trying to initiate a 'go home' route calculation when your gps has you in the water half way between the IOW and Southampton, resulted in my sd card going rogue trying to calculate. If you are in a field on land, it goes to hunt the nearest road. If you are on a ferry, it gets stuck. Switched the car off and removing the sd card and reinserting it, and switching on again produced an error message. Even after faffing about at a petrol station I had to drive back to London without navigation. However, on arrival, just before switching off, I selected navigation and it mysteriously had started working again. Moral: never ask it to calculate starting on water!
