Hello, didn't want to hijack this thread http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=67937 then I open another one,

Where can I look/ see/ check the vaccum lines / actuator (whats that?) on the E300TD? Just wonder as my gear box as a kind of rough change sometimes. I mentionned it before. It also feel sometimes like there is a wheel spinning inside with a momentum, then it goes in gears, hard to explain. The oil is new ish and at the right level.
Could it be that the silentblock is out as well? It was a wee wobbly last time the car was up, might need a new one?
Or the enging mount rubber thingy?
Thank you :)

There is no vacuum device for the 722.6 gearbox, it's all electronic.

Are you sure the level is correct.?

It as been checked with the mercedes dipstick... It actually started some time after I realised that the plunger from the S/W was stuck om W and free it. I don't know for how long the car as been stuck on starting on second? Perhaps years. Who knows? I wonder if this might have done something?
No vaccum pipes. Humm...
I might get a wee bottle and top it up a wee bit then.

I remember now that it was actually a little over when we checked it at mercedes, but just a teeny fraction, barely noticeable. I don't think this will do anything? Will it?

No. There is a float to stop any excess fluid migrating into the clutches.

found this is another forum...

Godamn! This might be what is happening as mine was stuck on W for who knows how long...

prolonged use of the W button will cause more damage to these transmissions than running them in S mode. The reason the W mode is there is for isolated instances when you want to take off slow due to reduced traction. ASR/ESP already negates the need for the 2nd gear start.
