Gear shift stuck in park S Class 2004

Hi
Has any one got more info on the small broken plastic part on shifter to 2004 S class.
I know they are available on Evil-Bay, but I am looking for the metal type i am sure are around,probably overseas.
Any more info would be appreciated.

Thanks for that,I also read some where that this metal part is not 100% easy fit,apparently the holes are not the correct size!!
How ever in my case the lever is not broken not is the solonoid !! I found that the hard way.
I am going to get the brake switch now as that is what I should have done FIRST.
I hope this helps, but if you want do do a bit more research on the metal lever I can wait and as a precaution am happy to join forces and order a couple to get a better deal,

My SL got stuck in park last week and I started investigating everything like yourself and thinking of a way of solving it.... Then it turned out it was just one of the brake light switches had failed.

£15 later and its all sorted.

Ok Chaps problem of Locked Shifter now sorted it was the Brake switch!!
