ive got a w211 e270 auto starts ok when driven only a few miles goes into limp mode 3rd gear i pressume and the display for sport and comfort mode goes had it code read garage says faulty gear stiick take battery off couple hrs re start all ok then does same thing dont want to put gear stick in and have same problem had similar problem was turbo

Were the codes read using STAR?
It could also be a failing sensor on electro-plate in the autobox.
