gear-stick stuck

I've a 02 ML270 auto that won't go into REVERSE or PARK. Gearstick seems to be stuck. It will start in NEUTRAL and will move in DRIVE, but I can't reverse it and I can't get the keys out of ignition because it won't go into PARK. Anyone experience this problem and any ideas? Cheers, Sil.

There is a reverse interlock on the side of the selector.

iirc you can insert a pen or similar object down through the top of the selector gate and release the interlock.

This will then allow the stick to move to P but not back out again.

Gear Stick Stuck in Neutral & Drive

Good Day Gentlemen,

I have a W208 320CLK.

This morning the Gear Stick got stuck in Neutral and Drive.
I cant get it to go to reverse.
I managed to slide the lever on the side and remove the key.

Anyone has any suggestions PLEASE!

i have the same problem ! take your foot off the brake and it should go up and down the auto box !! i also have another problem with the changing of gears some times does some times doesnt !! , diagnostic said gear selecta module !! one on the way !! ill keep you informed !

ok guys ! well i had the same problem stuck in what ever gear , finally traced to the gear selecta modul !! i got one of flea bay for my year 25 quid plus 5 postage !! fitted today just over a hour and a bit, wooooooow its like diving a new car smooth as it used to be
problem sorted !!! (c220 cdi , w203 !! )
