who do you recommend to do an oil and filter change in my clk w209 53reg

sorry,gearbox

Your thread title says Gearbox so assuming you meant this then it should be changed around every 40,000 miles as you have the 5Speed 722.6 type. MB changed the service intervals a number of times to fit in with lease cars and to keep costs down within leases, a proper fluid and filter changes far cheaper than a new or re-conditioned gearbox. :thumb:

There is a sticky thread on here as to how to fully drain the Torque converter as well as the transmission, you should also change the electrical connection as they are prone to leaking and ATF can leak and wick up into the Transmission ECU . This part is known as a Pilot Bush and is around £20.

See here for a detailed explanation of the process:

HOW TO: change the automatic gearbox oil and flush on a 722.6 'box | HOWTO

I would be getting this done by an experienced MB Independent, as the thread above says, bolts commonly shear. Not all can / will flush the Torque Convertor, I appreciate you are a fair way away but I can highly recommend PCS at Horndean or ask Andy Gale of Birmingham, I have heard good things about him.

Any oil that meets spec 236.14 is good enough.
Used Mannol Dextron VI that meets the above spec cost around 20 quid
