Gearbox ecu

Star has just let me know I have a defective gearbox ecu. Where is it located in the car? Does the replacement just plug in or is any additional work such as reprogramming needed?

Try Common Mercedes ECU Faults - ECU Testing I have used them in the past for my sons BMW and found them to be very good.

What year is your ML?

If its a 163 chassis I would ignore the code unless you have any symptoms. It always come up.

Also could be full of oil, stained carpet below park brake pedal is a give away.

Car is a 2002 facelift, was put on star to sort esp, abs, and bas warning lights on- this was the only fault that showed up

If you have those warning lights on there must be codes, gearbox ecu has nothing to do with it, there is a earth point under the passenger headlamp give that a good clean/wire brush as this can throw abs/esp warnings.
