Removal along with egr out Stage 1 .

Smoother , quieter , more torque and bhp , more drivable with more mpg .

No more cylinder liner diesel bore wash from dpf regeneration and less soot in the inlet and oil from egr .

In this instance of fault. If the DPFE pressure sensor has been replaced, and their are no intake hose leaks then ive found that replacing with MAF with a genuine one and cleaning out the EGR valve and lines has worked. This seems to turn out to be a needle in a haystack fault with each car though. Sometimes even a ECU re-flash sorting out the problem. Sorry this is only speculation and thoughts. Keep us updated on this.

I would get the injectors looked at on a Star as well as the EGR, clean the DPF, re-set everything with a Star, then drive it hard and see what happens. This kind of fault is very common and not usually tricky to fix.

Disconnecting the MAF will do bugger all other than log a code.

Disconnecting the MAF will actually trigger 2 codes (as he states above after he tried this to see if it would come out of limp mode) and force the ECU to run a default air parameter without a faulty MAF being plugged in. This in turn has worked in troubleshooting this kind of fault for me narrowing things down and most importantly enables the car to run without being in limp mode. 9/10. And if the car does not come out of limp mode things get a bit more deeper in the troubleshooting process. That is a very bold statement you made there. I can agree to dis-agree bud. Every car is diffirent but if dis-connecting the MAF does bugger all why has a load of C and E classes ive worked on the last 2 years, the majority came out of limp mode after dis-connecting the MAF's? In this case its not taken the ops car out of limp mode. So what has that achieved. It tells us that its a bit more complicated. Ide start looking at o2 sensors, exhaust back pressure, egr llines.... Ensure a legit mercedes genuine DPFE sensor, EGR is 100% ok, theres no split hoses and yes especially when there are any errors regarding cylinder error codes 1st thing to check would be injectors. Most of the time when an injector is faulty in some way the car will run really bad in limp mode or not , like it will idle erratically and judder and vibrate a lot. Ive come across instances where customers have neglected servicing their cars for years and similar symtoms caused by clogged fuel filters. I get a lot of Mercs with this stupid DPF 400% full fault carry on. Definetely a false error !

Sorry to resurrect this HITECH but basically put car repair on hold over winter.
This week I’ve fitted a Mercedes DPFE sensor, removed and cleaned MAF and done a full service.
Car still triggering limp mode due to excessive soot. EGR the next port of call?
I’ve noticed the water pump is leaking too so car is gonna be off the road for a little while longer

did you check pressure sensor channels are clean? Use steel wire to clean them...

then I second BlackC55, reason can easily be somewhere in boost/ insufficient combustion, which cause normally visible smoke but with DPF it just blocks the trap.

I never as don’t have any wire at home that would do the job. I’ll see if I can get my hands on some and remove it for the 4th time

TBH I’m a bit scunnered with it all as I don’t have STAR so all I can see is the fault codes with my reader. Might just take it an indie once I’ve fitted the new water pump.

So took the sensor off again. Tried puting wire down the 2 hoses. Down both hoses I could only get it down 10-15cm before it wouldn’t go any further. This felt more to do with the change of direction in the metal pipes rather than blockages though.
Going to just let a garage look at it now though as fed up chasing this fault.

It’s still in limp mode.
How did you do the regen?
BTW my car still falls back into limp mode. Never got to the bottom of why. It’s SORN’d just now.
