As iv not long rebuilt my trans i wanted to make sure i dont suffer the glycol issue so decided to check out what type of cooler it has, i followed the pipes to the cooler and its not what i though it would be, as i was led to believe the trans cooler runs through the radiator but mine runs to a heat ex-changer bolted to the back of the oil filter housing, i checked and double checked. Now is this type of cooler prone to failing causing glycol issues? if supplied a picture where you can just see the silver finned behind filter housing, it also has 2 water pipes running through it. From what iv read this is normally for cooling the engine oil but my trans pipes definitely run to it. thanks again.

I rather think the glycol issue only affected vehicles fitted with valeo radiators

Does anybody know why this type of cooler was changed to the radiator type? I cant find any info on it
