I have a w208 CLK auto which is sticking in one gear in forward.
It seems to jump when put in drive but when driven will not change gear
Any idea's

Thanks mogman

Its in emergency mode. I suspect a speed sensor in the box. A star test should find it.

You don't necessarily need to take it to a dealer. A specialist with a star can help.

Is there any oil in your gearbox control unit? (comes from a leaky pilot bushing on the gearbox electrical plug)

It is under the carpet on the passenger side kick panel.

Thanks for all the help.
Went to the Inde garage in Teesside and he soon resolved the problem

NEW BATTERY.

He ran all the checks and this is why the auto box was not changing gear.

Thanks again
:)

Once again a basic fault where the battery has gone short circuit in one cell, dragging down the battery voltage.

Always start with basics
