Gearbox servicing, is it part of the normal schedule?

Yes that's one of the kits I looked at, with the MB approved oil you are looking at around £150 so I thought the £180 price was exceptionally low .
Just out of curiosity today I phoned another Indy nearby and they quoted me £204.00 Inc VAT so it's only £24.00 dearer than the one I went to which as I said came highly recommended. I don't think it was a flush though, just oil change new filter and pan gasket but I will ring them tomorrow to find out what they did. However the car has only done 34k so I wouldn't have thought the oil was in to bad of a shape anyway.

Nick Webster did my gearbox service and dropped a cooler pipe off to do the flush. I had a 20 ltr tub of Fuchs and I think he used about 12 ltrs of it. The full job was done with new pilot bushing, filter, pan gasket, pan bolts.

That sounds like the complete job. And the right amount of ATF used too. Took me about 12 ltrs for the change in the 722.6 transmission.

Its not only mileage, but time determined as well. The 722.6 and the 722.9 trans have different schedules, as far as I know, and the change info should be in the manual. But I'm sure that some one will be along who has the definite service schedule to hand.

I am booked to MB DEALER for my gerabox oil change 9g w213 they say 5 years or 80k miles whitchever comes first it will cost me £550 insane but what can i do. Lucky it is not very often :)

Better off joining the service plan. Which is what I'll be doing.

Yeah , but my low mileage is thinking is it worth doing even at 5 years 🤔.
I think that over time the fluid deteriorates or changes in some way...I'm not sure exactly what happens, but MB recommends it's changed , so presumably there is a reason for it. Same thing with engine oil, its either mileage or time which ever comes first. With Covid limited travel, I'd say that some oils will be changed at a fraction of their normal mileage, but will have reached the date.

What miles have you done and how old ?
Tried a local indie specialist as that sound enormous ?

Once i am done with oil change i would not really get bargain on service plan at all. Engine service has been done November too
I will, because the gearbox is serviced at year 5 along with a few more years of servicing.

Well its 5 years old model with 83k on the clock. I was booked with my local mercedes speciallist HAlock but he couldnt do it for some strange reasons... Hes very professional otherwise but deals with rather older models of mercedes.

Read through this thread,( if you have not already done so) have you tried an Indy ??? Depending on where you live, I'm sure that some one here will be able to advise you. You will be able to judge what is a good deal, if you allow that the Parts alone will cost between £180=200.

£1008.00 for 2 years servicing . Less your £550 = £229 per service .

I'm not 100% on this but from what I've seen on the 9g ,the sump pan is plastic and is combined with the filters . The whole thing is changed. Service kits on ebay are around £250 .
