Hi guys,

Haven’t posted a thread for a while but with summer coming work is pretty busy over at HQ. But I just thought I would post one of MBClub.co.uk member ‘Aeroman’ cars up I have completed recently. I initially completed a full correction and crystal lacquer protection on his new MX5 after concrete dust had attacked the lacquer quite bad. As the Fiat 695 was park in the same location it was opted that the Tributo Ferrari was to have the same package detail. This was the detail,
-Degreased with surfex HD, left to dwell for 5 minutes and rinsed @60*.
-Snow foamed with bilthammer auto foam. Left to dwell 10 minutes and rinsed. @60*.
-Door shuts, petrol cap, grilles gaps and badges degreased with surfex and rinsed @60*.
-Was 2bm with Dodo juice born to be mild, carpro mitt and dooka mitt for lower half’s.
-Rinsed @60*.
-Complete chemical bath with iron x, re washed and rinsed.
-Dried with XL super plush drying towel and Aeolus warm air blower.
-Clayed with dodo juice gentle grey & Megs last touch as lubricant.
-Full IPA wipe down to remove clay sling and silicone residue.
-Corrected on the rupes Bigfoot with Megs 105 and rupes green pad.
-Refined on the rupes Bigfoot with Megs 205 and rupes white pad.
-A secondary full IPA wipe down to ensure true correction and bonding basis for the crystal lacquer.
-All dust removed from vehicle using a combo of dodo juice wool duster & the airline.
-Gtechniq C1 applied to all paint Inc front and rear light lenses.
-3 x coats of collinite over all ppf filmed areas over 3 days.
-Exhausts polished using mothers Powerball and mothers mag polish.
-Rear diffuser protected with Aerospace 303.
-Door shuts polished by hand and protected with C1.
-Windows given a thorough IPA wipe down with Gtechniq G1 application.
-Car put in the air, and all wheels removed.
-Wheels cleaned off car using bilberry wheel cleaner.
-Complete iron treatment and rinsed @60*.
-Tyres degreased with surfex HD AND RINSED @60*
-wheels dried with warm air blower.
-Wheels treated for tar spots using tardis and a microfiber.
-Wheels given a thorough IPA wipe down.
-Wheels protected in Gtechniq C5.
-Callipers given a thorough IPA wipe down with C5 also applied.
-Inside arches dressed with chemical guy’s bare bones.
-Wheels placed on vehicle & torque at correct factory settings.
-All interior plastics degreased with surfex and protected in swissvax matte.
-All leather cleaned with swissvax leather cleaner.
-Leather protected in swissvax leather milk and elephant fat.
-Interior glass cleaned with Meg’s glass cleaner.
-A lengthy detailed vacuumJ
-All interior carbon protected with Wolfgang fusion.
-Final dust down with the dodo juice wool duster and it was ready to go!

Unfortunatelly the person who PPF filmed the front end, forgot to remove the tar spots from the front end before filming!

If anyone wants to know what a strike through looks like this is one. The previous detailer had clearly used a large 6'' pad in a tight area alone this crease line. Combination with it being a rotary, to big a pad, too small an area means lacquer strike through on crease.

Phenomenal job, I have never seen one like that before so what can I say?

The question is what sort of cost is involved in a job like that, I realise every job is going to be different but I honestly have no idea how much something like this would cost (but I don't think it is likely to be cheap lol)

I understand if you don't want to say but whatever you charged looks like being good value from the result you have here.

Nice job but i bet it costs a fortune. Bet it would take twice as long on my c280

That is an neat little car.

The strike through picture was interesting. More "Detail" like that in your posts makes them very readable.

That Morgan will look stunning.

Thanks guys,

For this style of work it varies from £750.00 upto £2000.00 generally depending on size, lacquer origin and quality of the original car. So price can variate quite a lot when including the factors.

Thanks for the information its a lot of money but when you take into account the amount of work done it actually works out quite reasonable.

Personally I have never seen a car detailed to this standard and having spent a number of years in the motor trade I know most other people are in the same position, so seeing these images is like opening a whole new world to me.

I thought I was doing a reasonable job on my own car but in truth I am not even in the beginners category when it comes to the world of detailing, in honesty whilst I have used lifeshine and the rest of the autoglym, range on my cars I thought i was doing an okay job, now I know I have a VERY long way to go.

Still the fun is in learning so they say and as I am disabled in quite a lot of ways everything I do takes 3 times as long as it would take an able bodied person; never mind I will get to the stage I am happy with eventually even though I will never be in the class of most detailers let alone someone such as yourself.

One thing I would like to say is having seen these photo's showing the quality of your work I would like to wish you every success in the future because with results like these and a work ethic like yours you really deserve to make it to the very top of your profession if you are not already there and you dont mind me saying so.

Thanks for showing me what is possible given the time, experience, knowledge and equipment it shows me what I need to strive for in the future,

That's very kind words, thank you and much appreciated :)

Kind Regards
Michael

Great work mate. What machines did you use? I can imagine the Bigfoot 15 or 21 having serious bother with alot of those contours and small areas or have you the wee Rupes 75 too.

I have a 3M, rupes lh18ens, flex pe-14-2 150, 15mm throw Bigfoot and a rupes 75 air power too. But to be fair the Bigfoot done 99% of the coverage on this car. The 3M tends to have a small backing plate always on it for tight areas as our compressor keeps loosing power over long periods of compression time. So until the new one comes the 3m does the tight area with extension arms.

That's what happens when you put a Ferrari badge on something :thumb:

Nice collection. I'm getting a Bigfoot 15 sent over from the US in a few weeks time. Been strictly DA for ages after my last rotary packed in. Heard mixed reviews on the Rupes so was holding out but it's coming a decent price so will see how it goes.

Yes was wondering what that would have cost.WOW who would pay that footballers wag???

Awesome work!-thanks for posting detailed pics!
