Hi guys, have a quick 10 mins this early eve to get a small write up on Palmballs ML63 that came into me a while back. MBClub member Palmball did put up some of his own photos of the car after I finished it, which can be found here:
http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/detailing/178381-ml63-amg-gemcleand.html
But here's what I done to get it there. This was strictly book in for and exterior Gtechniq Advanced CS TSP package. So not the usual signature correction detail. But this detail still comes with a single stage machine polish to make sure the surface is perfectly smooth for the advanced tsp's.
This was the car on arrival. Usual white paint problems. Looks of organic & chemical fall out with the benifit of alot of road Tar.
Exhaust tips looking nasty with baked on exhaust crud.
lots of bug splatter:
And wheels looking pretty sorry for themselves:
Engine bay had a suprising amount of dirt and mud in it, so though it wasnt something Palmball asked about, I couldnt leave this like it.
First up was snow foam at 60'c and left to dwell:
This was rinsed off at 60'c and then washed 2bm with Gtechniq Gwash and a carpro mitt for the top half and an optimitt for the lower half:
This was then rinsed at 60'c and then treated to a chemical bath to remove industrial fallout. As suspected lots of industrial fall out, stoppong the vehicle from having a smooth surface:
Vehicle was then re washed and rinsed at 60'c. Then it was onto drying the vehicle with a 70/30 drying towel:
using the warm air blower to remove the the water from the badges, shuts, traps & gaps:
Once dry, it was time to clay the car with elite medium clay bar and megs last touch as clay lube:
Once clayed the vehicle was given a full ipa wipedown. To remove old silicone filler polishes and clay sling.
Then it was time for a single stage machine polish. This was completed on the flex using Gtechniq P1 & a LC Orange pad:
various shots of the paint through the machine polishing stage:
The piano black pillars were looking pretty bad, but its a common issue on a compound thats so soft. These were corrected via the mini bigfoot:
After the vehicle was given a single stage machine polish, it was onto getting the wheels off, and cleaning the calipers to prep them for glass coating:
Inside arches degreased and colour dyed:
Arch lips treated to tardis to remove tar deposits:
All the wheels off for there deep clean:
Dirty wheel:
