Seeing in another thread that others on here maybe sometimes accidentally speed (myself included) and also tow caravans, I am curious wether being caught speeding, whilst towing caravan, is a worse offence than just speeding normally?
Do you get 2 tickets?.6 points?..a towing awareness course?....etc etc.....Has anybody ever been done for this?

I got caught speeding overtaking a car towing a caravan. Does that count?

Depends on the speed...

Ie speed limit v speed.

Interesting question. AFAIK it's just a normal fixed penalty, I did wonder recently though how 'intelligent' speed cameras are i.e. would they only trigger at 70 (on unrestricted motorway/dual carriageway) anyway? Similarly with SPECS (average speed) stretches.

I did get flashed once with the caravan on the back but nothing ever came of it.

A few years back I overtook a Porsche 911 on a single carriageway A road while towing our caravan :D

Without going over 50, obviously ;)

When i was a new driver darting around the lanes in my black 1600 sport MK2 escort i was once overtaken by an old dude driving a dolomite sprint while towing an old trailer full of hardcore!

Tony.

DD90 - "Furious Driving"

Wanton and Furious Driving to give its full title.

It's an old offence from the Offences Against the Person Act, 1861 and has all but been superseded by the offences in the RTA. It's only used for when it is not possible to use the RTA e.g. not on a road/public place or the vehicle used was not mechanically propelled etc. Also for offences where the vehicle was used to make an assault occasioning harm. There is a bit more to it but that's all that comes to mind this second…not used often.
