Hi people

Not sure if this is common knowledge on here and I have missed it but I have just purchased the latest command disc Version16 2014-15 for my w203 and it was only £100 inc Vat from the main dealer!!!!!!:bannana:
MB Maidstone I am pleasantly surprised that's all.

Please now feel free to continue with whatever you were doing.

Pretty good ha! I went astray for a while into the murky world of BMW, iv learnt my lesson and it wont happen again.

Blimey that's a good price. I could well be tempted ... ours still has the original 2007 disc :o

^ Mine still has the original 2004 disc:dk:

What would improve for me by updating to the latest version?

At £100 I'm very tempted.

Vast update on roads.....any housing estates built in the last 10 years will be missing for a start

I got a genuine used 13/14 disc on ebay for £50 and appears to work very well, but no full post code

I've still got the original 2004 disc in mine. I hardly use is to be honest so would be money down the toilet.

I've not had anything that it couldn't take me to successfully (Kings College Hospital in London, MSL in Birmingham) - probably because these have been there a long time...

I did consider buying someone's older disc (which is a fair bit newer than mine of course) but the prices usually asked aren't worth it for me.

Forget full 7 digit postcode entry in anything older than about MY2011 W204 facelift NTG4.5 - even my 2008 NTG4 only has 5 digit postcode entry, and the 2011 and 2013 updates did not change that. I asked Comandonline about updating to NTG4.5 - not just a new Comand, but also a new dash, significant 4 figure cost - forget it!!!

I recently asked my dealer about a new disc and they said if it hadn't been updated since 2005 that it would need to be updated with several discs and that it would need to come in to a dealership to have it done. He said it's not just as simple as chucking in a 2014 disc..... Anyone know what that's all about?

I will stick with the Garmin then!

Thanks,

My second hand disc took about 10 min to update. Updating what? I thought everything was on the disc.

Firmware update, each disc has a updated firmware for the unit which are needed for the updated disc, also W126 I went from the original 2004 disc straight to 14-15 no probs. 10 min updating then away it went.

not true as I'm aware I went from 04 to 14-15 no issues.

£100 bloodyhell glad i can update mine with my phone (or so they tell me)

I recently updated the maps in Mrs. Stratman's TomTom satnav. I can't remember how much it cost.

No wait, I can. It was free.

Is that one of the newer versions with lifetime map updates included?

RRP for the TomTom Western Europe map set is £65, which isn't far off £100 for an M-B DVD. But TomTom discount all the time, I paid £32 in March for a 12 month subscription (new maps quarterly plus ad hoc updates).
