Leave work as early as possible, hit the road to your place. &nbsp;Either we go in separate cars or just one and hammer over to Harwich asap for the 22:15 check-in then cruise over to NL in style overnight <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

how low is this &quot;family&quot; car on the icon?

ok, well, if I leave here at lunchtime (1:30pm?) on the 28th, I get to your place in 4 hours:

Total Estimated Time: 3 hours, 58 minutes
Total Distance: 213.6 miles

It's now 5:30pm

Then we hit the road to the coast:

Total Estimated Time: 2 hours, 32 minutes
Total Distance: 98.4 miles

9pm arrival at the docks, allowing an 1 hour and 15 mins for getting lost or roadworks etc.

Everything's worked out beautifully. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

EDIT: if we're going in two cars we should buy walkie-talkies for the NL/DE side of things because mobile to mobile in another country is ££££. &nbsp;I have a CB radio designed for car use in the loft so I'm ok, what about you? <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

Ive just been to the post office and filled a renewal passpot form (last one was stolen)

I also got my old Lecturer to sign the passport mug shots!!!!

Will hand in forms tomorrow after I find my supporting docs.

Why not just get dutch and german mobile phone sim cards? you can get em at the carphone warehouse .. much cheapness ...

Hey, looking forward to see both of you in NL this time instead of in the UK!
Let me know when exactly to expect you and we will sort further details out.

The German MB gtg already has over 100 W201s signed up, 20 W202/W203s, 18 W124s ans some other MB models...seems like the W201 is doing well in Germany...

greetingz,

Hopefully the passport processing place won't take the usual 3 months to turn yours around...

They sell French and Italian ones, couldn't find any German or Dutch ones though.  The walkie talkie idea still stands, just seen a pair of BeeTee ones for sale - they look quite cool and have a range of 2 miles <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

2 miles isn't long enough , remember , its Koolvin thats following you .... &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Hey Vinay, should I take the Friday (28th) off work and drive down Thursday night instead? &nbsp; We could hit the DE gtg earlier that way...might take monday off too, depends how blasted I am after 1000 miles of driving (and the rest&#33<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>. &nbsp;Maybe I should get my MOT done and that vee belt replaced before going too...

no.

Although there's a tiny, tiny, slight (HUGE&#33<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> possibility that we'll swing by your place on the way <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
