My new laptop comes pre-installed with McAfee. :(

I have used AVG-Free for a while and am happy with it.

I'm not a fan of the likes of Norton/McAfee and would like to uninstall the McAfee before registering the product.

Is there a sure-fire way to get McAfee out of the system (Windows 7) completely before my machine gets bogged down with all its carp?

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

Good. Get Nod32 or Kaspersky.

+1 for Kaspersky:thumb:

here are some specs:
/admin_ietf/reg/eu/uk/Crack Times/

McAfee 2:32
Norton 2:19
AVG 2:12
Bullguard 2:14
Nod32 14:54
Kaspersky 14:45

And the list can be bigger. These are real times cracking times which means the best possible time for a hacker to get into your PC.

Id recommend Trustix for Mac users or if on Linux....get Red Hat :)

On this topic, NOD32 ftw ;)

I have a personal grudge with Norton... don't think I'll ever buy a symantec product again... which will be hard now that they've bought PGP...
