gigabit router

Fair point... And in the interest of the OP, the interference may harm the wireless signal.

Apologies for giving not so correct advice in my previous post. I was confused after all the A, B, 2, 3 and 5!!!!

Another point

Even with the filtered master socket it is still worth putting a filter on your Sky box if you have one. I am not sure why but Sky boxes don't bahave as they should sometimes and again can interfere.

And if you don't have a filtered master socket, double filter your Sky box.

All these things can make a tiny bit of difference but added together can add another 20% of throughput.

But the ADSL signal will be filtered at the master socket. If you still require micro filters at the extensions, then I suspect a faulty filtered faceplate.

Some Sky boxes for some reason cause interference across the other pairs.

You are right that the face plate SHOULD filter this but I have seen many many reports over the years to the contrary hence the advice and seeing that you will now have spare filters after fitting the faceplate it's cost you nothing.

Our phone system is built on technology that is over 100 year old. Even Christmas lights will degrade your broadband connection. Remember, this is an analogue delivery mechanism and it doesn't take much to screw it up.
