Give your car a free "winter health check

many companies are offering free winter "health check"
covering batteries starter motors alternators etc
so why not take advantage
if it shows your battery is on the way out or any other problems - it is not necessary to let the giver of the health check the work as many of them will be expensive for the part
eg battery could be £125 at the healh check provider but an identical one elsewhere could be £50 cheaper
windscreen wipers are also a good money maker for the health check providers - a £50 set is available for less than a tenner on a well known shooping site
the same for starter motors alternators etc etc.

Left my car in at Hughes this morining to have its SRS fault fixed, and noticed that they'd also added a complimentary winter health check to the job sheet.

Had this done last year at MB dealer when the 124 was in for some other work. They spotted a couple of minor issues but there was no pressure to have the work done.
