Gl450 Oil Capacity Problems

Evening all
got a 2011 4.0 X164 GL450 amd have had problems with the red warning light coming on dash to say too much oil in engine
so we checked double and triple checked and still the light was coming on
£80.00 later changed the level sensor in the sump and guess wot its back on we are beginning to wonder if its got wrong dipstick

so could someone point me in right direction for engine oil capacity including filter please
