I have a few scratches on the drivers door window, obviously caused by dirt/grit in the window rubber, apart from fitting another window, will anything get the scratches out?

I seem to remember that metal polish will look after light scratches

Cerium oxide or as it's better known jewellers rouge is the best stuff to use with either lots of elbow grease or careful use of an orbital buffer.

I'm with Bear. (I used to work for a subsidiary of Pilkingtons - anyone remember Triplex?)

Slowly and gently though.

The only problem with jewellers rouge is that it makes a frightful red mess everywhere and is a pain to wash off. But it will polish gem stones. I think it is available in a couple of different grit grades.
