Hello,

I have a very frustrating problem which should be simple I feel.

We are replacing a window regulator but we cannot release the glass from the regulator. There does not seem to be any bolts and it seems its just slips into the regulator channel.

No matter how hard we try it will not move. Are there any pins or bolts hidden that need to be released.

Regards,

Barry

Addendum

Hi,

Should have added its a 1999 e300 TD Saloon and its the front drivers door

thanks

Did a window regulator on my 2001 E210 and don't remember having to release the glass at all ........... took about 30 mins total ......... think there was some peculiar clip but can't remember now. Try taking a photo of it and blowing it up on your computer it usually works for me.

The regulator should slide out of one end of the channel but you will have to either raise or lower the window to do this. If it's electric just re-connect the wiring and operate the switch until it moves into a position where it will slide out.

If I recall correctly, the glass is held to the regulator along the bottom edge. There was a white plastic clip with some arrangement to hold the glass on the regulator.

You probably need to move the window half way down to see it.
