GLE 350 de
Hello guys,I hope everyone good here.
Has anyone here successfully remapped GLE 350de ?
Apparently the ECU is locked and i only found a place in Belgium that offering a ECU unlock and remap on dyno.
Any help will be appreciated .

Regards

Nas

I have a gle350de (not mapped) what are you hoping to achieve with a map. I think you will find the main issue being the car only uses electric on its own till it runs out and then switches to diesel??
kc

Yeah that would be BR Performance.

They are the only ones that can unlock the latest ECUs.

I'm looking for more power, particularly for overtaking and motorway driving. We do a lot of long-distance travel across Europe, and the car often feels underpowered — especially in Germany, where swift overtaking is sometimes essential. Regards Nas

Our GLE350de has just gone to dealer with charging/electrical range issues. been diagnosed by MB Germany and needs a new hybrid battery, just on 3 years old and 23k miles

Oh, that’s unfortunate — especially with only 23,000 miles on the clock and already needing a battery replacement. What kind of symptoms did the car show beforehand?

Kind regards,

Was perfect till February this year. We noticed the range on pure electric fell like a stone, showed fully charged with max range but used all the electric in less than 10 miles. It also used to take about 14 hours on granny charger from 0-100% it was then doing a full charge in less than 3 hours!!. Now always shows charging error when charger is plugged in, have to wait about 6 weeks for a new battery from Germany to arrive at dealership before they will make an appt to install it. They have 5 sites local to us but there is only one qualified engineer who can change the battery!!!!!!!!!
Using plenty of diesel now haha

Hopefully you have a warranty in place 🤞. I guess the battery plus labour won't be cheap 🤦🏻‍♂️

6 year 60,000 warranty on battery/charger. Will have to pay the 400 diagnostic charge though for them to prove the problem, Not happy but not alot I can do about it

Surely that will be refunded? Diagnostics for repairs covered under warranty aren’t usually charged.

I think that is for the "new car" warranty the battery is a separate warranty to the car, or so they said
kc
I would check your T&Cs. I’ve never had to claim on a HV Battery Warranty but I would be very surprised if you must pay for diagnostics relating to a repair covered under warranty.

That’s the case for the new car, approved used and extended warranties so I cannot imagine that the HV Battery would be different. If anything I would expect it to be closely aligned to the new car warranty, as it’s was comes with the car when purchased new.

Will investigate, dealer probably taking the pi$$ as is their way these days. may call MB direct for advice

Was this an extended warranty? Many thanks Nas

The hybrid battery warranty covers all new Mercedes hybrid models. Only caveat to that is that when I receive the new battery it does NOT rest the 6 year warranty so I will only have the remainder of my initial 6 year warranty (so just under 3 years)

Thanks for the info buddy. regards Nas

That's quite poor - my i3 has a 8year/100k battery warranty.

For those not familiar, that’s standard practice for warranties and guarantees of all types, and is not specific to HV batteries, Mercedes or car warranties in general.

The warranty is a contractual agreement and contracts become enforceable only after consideration, which in the vast majority of cases means a payment from buyer to seller.

If there is no payment for a replacement under warranty then there can be no contractual commitment and the original contract remains from original purchase.

Yep....like I had normal 12v car battery with a five year warrary fail after about four and a half years. So even though they replaced it with the same battery the new one only gets 6 months warranty....so up till the end of the original batteries 5 year warranty. Completely normal practise.....otherwise it could be never ending!!!
