what do you mean headlights on, should it not work without the headlights on.
I have just been out to my C class W205 and the light comes on when the ignition is on and the glovebox is opened.
As for where the switch is I have no idea.

it seems it only works when the headlights are turned on, it seems to stay on until the headlights are switched off. seems weird there is no plunger or something to operate the light in the glove box. thanks for all replies.
Mine comes on with out the headlights being on.
