Does anyone have the part number for a Dec 2014 Mercedes c class estate. 651 engine. Struggling to find part number online where's best place to find parts from reg plate?

in summer glow plug light came on a few seconds after starting. I’m assuming it’s the controller? Car starts in the cold but rough then light comes on. Is this common?

Could just be one or more Glowplugs and / or the controller . Had a plug go and the controller at the same time on my ML. Getting it on Star will tell you exactly what's wrong

I would expect your controller to be ok from the indications you get.

A gp going short cct could take the controller with it.
I would do a simple multimeter test on the gp's.
Open cct means goosed and needs replacing,
a dead short may well mean gp and controller replacement,
low ohms reading and the gp is ok.

Changing all in one go makes sense though.

If this is not fixed what are the potential repercussions? My glow plug light stays on for a few seconds when I start from cold. Thanks

I was told to wait until the GP light was out before starting. Is this no longer the case?

Hi thanks for reply. Just been on Star and looks like control module because it suggest all 4 plugs out.

I see your point it starts so why change. With recent frost starting really rough (rocking car) and had to wait for a min to settle down.

Anyone know the part number for the module? 651 engine Dec 2014 c class estate 2.2

If all else is good it would need to be pretty cold to affect the start. Generally we're ok in the UK.
It does affect emissions though I beleive.

But as said check your GP's resistance.
Can these be checked at the controller by unpluging there, anyone?

Resistance checked and all good. For sure it’s the controller anyone know the part number?
