I am going to list my car on e-bay next week, after looking at prices of these cars it is very hard to value.

I have seen poor examples go for under 5k and nice example still going for 9k!

Do you think the below is a suitable listing:-

Mercedes CLK 230K Convertible

77,000 genuine miles

2000 plate (w reg - currently on a private plate)

Silver with blue roof

Auto Box with Tiptronic feature

Cruise control

Heated glass rear window

Electric roof, seats and heated electric heated folding mirrors

Face lift version (indicators in the mirrors)

18" wheels

Grey full leather

Fully colour coded from new

CD/DVD/USB/SD Player with bluetooth phone kit built in.

Parking Sensors front + rear

Excellent condition (original spare wheel / first aid kit + triangle etc..)

11 months MOT on the car

Taxed - November

Just had new brake pads + disk's front and rear.

2 x new front tyres

Wind deflector

Stunning example

2 keys - all documents + manuals in place

Full service history up to this month - I am willing to get this service done before the sale If the clk sell's for the asking price.

As you can see the front grille, bonnet star, and rear lights have all been updated to newer versions
I still have the original parts boxed at home - these can be collected with the car or changed back when sold.

Only selling as I fancy a 2 seater, something like a boxster, z4 or s2000

Please feel free to e-mail me for further details

Full payment must be made prior to collection.

The car currently has a private plate, i will need to change this when sold.

No time wasters, i am selling as i fancy a 2 seater - I am in no rush to get rid of the car as it is a pleasure to drive.

The CLK is used on a daily basis therefore the mileage will rise a small amount (I currently do 6,000 miles per year)

These are the only pics I can add on here - I will be adding more showing the leather etc.....

I was thinking of staring the listing @7k but adding a reserve as i really want at least 8k

Let me know what you think.....

Lovely car, low mileage. IMHO price is a little high, but its worth what anyone will pay for it. I've driven the s2000 fantastic car, I'd also recommend the 350z UK car with GT pack (lots of imports in the UK) which I have also driven.

Personally I'd remove the bit about wanting a roadster. You'll attract peeople offering you their 1990 Escort cabriolet! :)

Also, can you remove the personal plate now? If I bought a car I'd want to collect it asap and not wait several weeks for DVLA to arrange the paperwork IMHO

Good luck.

Looks lovely.
A little optimisyic on the price, and if you have the time it might be worth returning the grille and lights to original. They won't add to the selling price, but you will certainly be able to sell them seperately.
Also if you can, get some photos in sun. They always make the car look much better.

very nice, i agree as above take off the wanting a roadster and get the plates changed over soon as.

Also i think on ebay its free listing this weekend not sure it motors are included but i got an email yesterday....why not make the most of it.....

Oh, and if you're feeling really mercenary, sell the wind deflector seperately. Won't add to the sale price, but will get at least £200

I'd take the grill off and put a standard Avantgarde one on. Nice car otherwise!:)
I second that opinion...!!!

No offence............

Real beauty. Good luck with sale for this price.

Looks nice,

Price seems a little steep? also try piston heads and take pics of the inside also.

I agree about the private, if your selling it needs to be ready to go as someone buys it, not phaffing with differnet tax etc...

I owned a Z3 and Soooo nearly bought a S2000 (its nice but wired vtec engine needs 2 gears lower than you think to make it move) also have friends with Boxster 2.7's and the 'S' models. Again nice cars. I always wanted a ///M Roadster... How about a SLK32??

good luck

Pistonheads no brainer and take the plate off I know from experience its a pain to do it after the sale.

If you get a sunny weekend and a impulse buyer ......

I bought my clk through Ebay although the seller did advertise on PH for a month before for book value (£5750) with no luck. He eventually listed on Ebay, the winning bid was £4400 but the buyer failed to collect hence I got it with a second chance offer for £4300. If like you say you're in no rush then why Ebay? List it on PH or Autotrader, sit back & wait.
Deffinately agree with the others, its best to sell with original parts fitted & plate already changed.

Cheers All, if we do get a chance of some sun this weekend i'll take some more photos and you may have even twisted my arm to remove the grille / lights and replace with the original......

Vety tempting to sell the wind deflector seperately however i think its a good point having all the extra parts ect.. to go with the car.

As for Rees A - good try but i think i'll hold on to it for now.....lol

So far i have been offered 6k from a garage and 7k from a private sale px against a boxter.....the one for 6k was against a very nice porsche, the 2nd for 7k was against a boxter what was too new and too big an engine for my insurance bracket!

As Harry said, if I dont ask I dont get....

Cheers All

It might be worth adding a line to say "Mercedes Club Member", it doesn't technically mean much but I'd see it as a plus if I was a buyer, suggests care and attention above the norm.

The car looks great, good luck wth the listing.

Swozza mentioned 350Zs, I have one at the minute, great cars...basically like a TVR that actually starts. Well worth a look, if the budget stretches, the later cars have 300+ bhp and Nissan build & reliability (or should that be 'Datsun')

out of interest, why ebay vs autotrader?

I ask only because I've always used autotrader. Costs no more than £40 to advertise and if the price is right sellers come and car sells relatively quickly. However, if ebay has clear advantages, I would certainly consider it.
