Is there a thread where we can post experiences that we've had with dealers?

I'm keen to tell people to stay away from a dealer that I'm currently having a very bad time with. I'd hate for anyone else to be ripped off by him.

You can post the story here if you'd like to discuss it...

Be careful anything you say isn't libelous since the forum mods are not keen on that sort of thing and your thread may be removed . Stick to the facts about your specific problem as you know them- and folks will help with advice as best they can.

All I'd like to do is to advise people to stay away from a certain dealer where I bought my C270. The car developed gearbox problems on the way home ( a 125 mile trip). The car is currently back with the dealer and has been there now for almost two weeks (I've only driven it for two days!!) I've logged a complaint with Trading standards just in case I need to take things further.

It's obvious that the car was not inspected prior to me collecting it - otherwise they would have noticed the headlight bulb that was out - which I noticed in thick fog on the M6!
I part ex'd a perfectly good car for this and It's turning into a complete nightmare!

I think if you stick to the facts of what happened then it shouldn't be a problem.

Are you complaining about the gearbox fault, the length of time to fix the problem, the bulb that blew when you turned on the light (because I'm sure you made sure it worked at the handover)...or something else?

The whole experience has been bad! - the fact that I bought a car that I'm now certain must've already had a fault when I bought it, the little discrepancies that have come up during my conversations with the dealer, the mechanic, and the transmission specialist. I'm not sure that I actually want the car back, but I suppose if it comes back working, then it should be alright. I'll certainly learn from this!

And I certainly won't be recommending Heritage carz of Birmingham.......

This is why i always buy from main dealers! i hope all goes ok for you as i also would be racked off on buying a car only to find its not running as it should.

Thanks! I've wanted an MB for so long and I hope that this doesn't tarnish my experience of ownership!
