Hi, folks!

My name is Marvin, I am 18 years old, from Germany.
I'm in love with my 190E 2.3, I got it 2 months ago. It's my first car :bannana:
It was only about €1,600 (£1,300) but it's in a very good condition, almost stainless.

I'm curious as I have been half looking at something like this for step-lad in a year or so. The insurance so far is probitive at over £2,000.

How does it work in Germany? Is Insurance very expensive for young drivers etc...

Yeah, the insurance here in Germany is awfully high for young drivers, especially when the engine is pretty "strong" (2.3 litre and 132 HP) and you don't have a garage and so on ...
If the car was registered on my name I would never be able to afford it. The insurance would be way too high.
So it's registered on my mother as her second car, but I still have to pay £820 p.a.. About £70 per month.
I talked to an old man who has a 190E 1.8 -- he only pays about £180 per year, £15 per month ...

It's so high for young drivers because the number of accidents caused by such "noobs" (age 18-23) is still growing .....

+ £140 taxes ---> £960 p.a. for my 190E 2.3

I do like the 190's... Always have done when I had one as a loaner a few years back from Ollie.... Find me a 2.6 Sportline or late Cosworth and I'd ditch the X5 as a daily driver!!

Welcome to the forum Marvin... You'll learn loads, meet some great knowledgable people but most of all save a whole heap of money with the advice you get from here.... Theres people from all walks of life on here and of varying financial wealth... What I have seen over the many years as a forum member is that you would have no idea if your talking to a multi-millionaire or a regular day to day person as we are all so down to earth...
