This weekend I had go at fixing the pixel outage on my W210.
Got the dash out easy enough and located where the rubber pressure strips were. This strip keeps the ribbon pressed against the printed circuit board. Turns out it doesn't, the ribbon is soldered/bonded to the board. All my fiddling had made it worse.
I was reluctant to send off my dash but now I had to.
I packed it well and kept it under 2kgs (Royal mail special delivery) Sent it at 2pm Monday, had a call from speedofixer Tuesday lunch time confirming receipt.
Then a text message at 6pm Tuesday, my speedo had been fixed and returned (RMSD) Got it at 10am today, plugged it straight in and all is well. I should have done it six months ago. £110 and it'd guaranteed.
I am a happy man,
PS. Mercedes paint warranty have today approved the painting of my doors (rust at top N/S) Things are looking good.
