Good source for Michelin Pilot SuperSports?

Phone Event up don't just do internet quotes.

Also, does the cheaper price include fitting?

That will cost £15 per wheel normally., so add £60.

Micheldever supply all these places with the super sports to begin with, so go straight to them and see where your nearest official branch is for them to be delivered and fitted.
My 275/35/19s were £440 fitted

That's a great price.

I'll be calling them when the E63 needs some new rubber....

That's the price fitted. I checked Event's website in the past following recommendations here but never found them to be the cheapest for my sizes. Will give them a call later today.

Just phoned them up. They don't mail order, I have to (again) go through their franchise. £200.66 for the fronts, £249 rears, both fully fitted. Close but no cigar.

I've never bought tyres of that size from event tyres. Only up to 18s previously, maybe they aren't so competitive at those low volume sizes.

But the free home/work fitment is worth £££ to me not having to waste valuable weekend time messing around at cold draughty tyre fitters for hours on end.

Or worse, having unpaid time off work.

I found 18s to be more popular and affordable too.

I usually just drop the wheels off at the local shop and get a call when done.

Wouldn't trust a random fitter with the wheels too, I'm paranoid just like that :)

Leaving the car on bricks while you take the wheels in?

I had a 3 series tourer and the 4 standard 18s (winter set) wouldn't fit in the boot, so it was two trips to the the tyre centre.

LOL. No, just have a couple of sets.

Used Tyreleader to get my Yokohamas and they were £50 cheaper than any other supplier. Pretty quick delivery considering they came from Germany and anle to track them all the way. Will definately use them again.

I couldn't find the Michelin PSS sizes I needed anywhere! so decided to go with Conti 5P's. Ordered the fronts from Camskill, still looking for rears :D

Good to know someone's used TyreLeaders, thanks for your feedback.

Don, how is it going buddy. Camskill has 5Ps for mine and price looks good too. I may give them a go! Check out what turned up today ;)

Wow awesome Rims Alex!

So when are you selling those ;)?

I got my front tyres from camskill, but the rears in the size I wanted wasn't there. I got conti 5ps all around now! Just waiting for the spacers and wheels bolts.

Got the best price for my Michelin Pilot Sport 3's at Formula one.

Just to add I managed to destroy my first set of super sports in around 30miles and had no joy what so ever with michelin in claiming anything back

Nice wheels Alx - same as mine! what widths have you gone for?

I will be in exactly the same position as you in a months time when I get new tyres after my centres have been painted. I was originally thinking of Michelin as I know many really rate them but to be honest I was a little put off as I know MatB's rears blistered and I don't think Michelin wanted to know! I think I will probably look at Goodyear.

I have ordered all my tyres online for the past 5 years or so, generally the cheapest have been Camskill, Mytyres and Clickontyres. I have not searched for Michelin on these sites though.

Good luck those wheels will look great on the car:thumb:

Thanks guys. Had PSS before so an easy decision but 5Ps look promising too.

Mat, very interesting experience. Can you share some more details of where and how this happened?

Simon, good call on painting the centres. What colour you're going for? Wheels are 8.5/9.5 x 19. The only site I didn't know of is Clickontyres but still dearer than TyreLeader. I have a weekend now to make up my mind!

Alx Ive been fighting it with Michelin since november. I purchased my tyres and had them on for no more than 30 miles and they blistered perfectly all down the centres (rears)
The only bit of hard driving it had in those miles was that it went on a dyno for a power run. Admittedly I hadn't checked the tyre pressures in this time so they could of easily been too high.
Needless to say i was pretty disgusted that Michelin or the tyre dealer were not interested or willing to help me. So i had to source another set so i could send them off for independent tests and take it back up with michelin.
I am awaiting the results of these test soon.

On a brighter note the new set have performed very well :thumb:

Heres a pic of what happened

Alx - those are the same widths as the set I picked up for my car (mine are LM154 & LM155). Unfortunately mine aren't new though but are in very good order. I disassembled them and had the centres vapour blasted. I'm having the centres done in a gunmetal like colour called 'galaxy grey' from House of Kolor. It's a glamour metallic so it has more flake in it, sounds naff but I think is going to look good (hope so anyway). I just wanted a little contrast with silver body colour. Can't wait to get them on the car with summer decent summer rubber on them, I hate winter tyres!

Mat, that doesn't look good at all. Had a set of Contis on wife's C-Class before and the shoulders cracked after 3k miles. Continentals sent an expert and offered a replacement shortly. Frustrating that it happened and even more frustrating that Mich is not cooperating.
