Good source for Michelin Pilot SuperSports?

Alx - those are the same widths as the set I picked up for my car (mine are LM154 & LM155). Unfortunately mine aren't new though but are in very good order. I disassembled them and had the centres vapour blasted. I'm having the centres done in a gunmetal like colour called 'galaxy grey' from House of Kolor. It's a glamour metallic so it has more flake in it, sounds naff but I think is going to look good (hope so anyway). I just wanted a little contrast with silver body colour. Can't wait to get them on the car with summer decent summer rubber on them, I hate winter tyres!

Yes, mines are 154 and 155 too. I wouldn't mind buying them used and refurbing but couldn't find them anywhere! Either wrong fitment or this or that. You were lucky to get a set. Post some pics when done!

Just ordered new rears pilot sport 3's 255/35/18 for £177 each Wheelbase alloys price matched Event tyres.
Had no issues with last set apart from they seemed to go off all of a sudden rather than progressively. Lots of tread left on fronts.

Ordered my PSS from TyreLeader. Hope to get them soon!

Just to add I managed to destroy my first set of super sports in around 30miles and had no joy what so ever with michelin in claiming anything back

I'm soon to replace my rears again but your experience really puts me off.

They're actually cheaper than the PS2s I have been running without issue for 3 sets now - so I was going to give them a punt.

I'm getting a set fitted on Monday. Same size as Alx: 245/40 front 275/35 rear, all ZR 19"'s. Opted for Dunlop Sport 01's which I've used in the past. They're A rated for wet weather and also pretty quiet at 69db. Cost is 840 fully fitted at home address. Incidentally, the Bridgestone RE050's I'm replacing have been very poor in all this wet weather.

Tyre leader seem to be the cheapest I can see. Just contacted them and they don't deliver to Northern Ireland :( they have MPSS for my CL at £206 and the garages here are looking £330 for them ? Disappointed :(

£785. They arrived yesterday.

In the end, Formula 1 charged me £775 for all four + thirty threw in a four wheel alignment for free :thumb:

As an outside suggestion, I just used Asda Tyres.

Didn't even know they did tyres, but they were competitive for the P Zero I needed for my CLS.

Hi, how do you find the tyres?. My CL had Falcons fitted when I first purchased it. I had no complaints and did not find fault with them. When the rears needed changing 275 35 19 I again went with Falcon. I was surprised this morning to discover the tyres were nearly at their limit, this is after only a tad over 2000 miles. I am at a loss to as why they have worn quicker than the others, the last set had 7,5k on them when changed. my driving habits remain the same:D. in short, I need new ones and wondered if you are happy so far with the ones you purchased. As a rule I like to change tyres at 3/ 3.5. 1.6 is a bit low for me.
Thank you. Also to anyone with any views.

Hi John,

The tyres are probably the best money can buy. Incredibly grippy with good handling in the wet. I haven't had them that long but did a track day and they are still as good as the day I fitted them. You won't regret buying them, that's for sure. Just make sure to get Pilot Super Sport as there are other Sport versions available (e.g. PS2, PS3).

Alex

+1 for super sports. Find them much better and more confidence inspiring than the contis that mine came with.

+2 for PSS

Just read this thread, seem to be paying thro the nose for super sport 3's
I have just had new rears 255/35/18 for £147 each fitted at wheelbase alloys in Chadderton near Oldham
That was supply fit and balanced
12 months ago I had all 4 tyres for £666 from event tyres....wheelbase price matched them this time.

Unless there unpredictability raises its head and without warning they let go, but there issues suit other manufactures just fine....:D
