iv sold the c class and bought a volvo v70 2.4, thanks for all the advise and help in my 2 years of mb ownership

Yup....good luck.....had a volvo once....to say it has issues would be an understatement.

Good luck with the new car .

As above , do pop back .

Good luck with your new car(bet you will be back in an mb in the not so distant future;)),don't forget your not allowed to indicate or let people out in a volvo:rolleyes:

All the best, I was told to do the same by a very satisfied V70 D owner. However, the caveat being he was extremely satisfied, but not inspired anymore. I suppose he was saying that as the garage bills dropped, so did the enjoyment.

I'm considering the trade-off :)

Good luck with the new motor, don't be tempted back to the dark side...

I always thought Volvos slogan "there's more to life than a volvo" was a little odd.

I guess they are aiming at people who just want a car that works but who aren't that interested in cars or something...

I sense volvo have this about right.

Best of luck with your Ford Mondeo :D

Really? I'm struggling to see this one!

Enjoy the Volvo they are a nice place to be, although I'm tempted to agree with Spike, having a S80 with only 140 horses, I do seem to be a little less interested in spirited driving now.

There's no such thing as a Ford platform Volvo so on that basis I agree with you. :D

My personal experience of owning an S60 is that 4 years on its had no mechanical failures at all and has cost next to nothing to run. It is sublimely comfortable and refined and is very frugal to boot.

Despite all its good points, it doesnt get cherished or loved though as there's more to life than a Volvo.

Ford use a Volvo engine in some models. Not sure it happens the otherway around though.

I love this on ALL forums. People tend to get the right hump if anyone dares to say anything even slightly less than complimentary about their magnificent marque. But the truth of the matter is that the volvo will not be falling apart with rust and is as reliable as any Mercedes. I have had several Volvo's and have obviously driven many through work.

I would have a Volvo in place of two Mercs anyday of the week, thanks. Which is why I sold my C250td this morning when I part ex'd it for - Yes, a V70 estate.

Each to their own, But this Is a Mercedes forum after all..

Its OK BFJ has previous on this forum for being tarty, as in sour.

He flounced off the forum on April Fools Day, then came back and said it was a joke.

He bought a non runner of a Mercedes and used all the advice and encouragement off members to get it running and up to a decent standard.

Enjoy the Volvo forums Jim (not as you will need them as your Volvo will be perfect)

Close the door as you leave Jim. Now where did I put my room freshener:devil:

I've tried to defend you to an extent before, but seriously pal- give it a rest.
You are on a Mercedes forum where the general consensus will be that Mercedes are quite good cars.
You say that you've had plenty of Volvos and from what I can tell you've only had one Mercedes? So how can you judge them as an entity from just having one of their examples?
To me Volvos are the most depressing cars ever made, but I wouldn't go on to a Volvo forum raving about how a W211 320 CDi is vastly superior to anything Volvo have ever produced.
It's just not cricket old chap....
