Be aware - Chromecast is known to cause problems other wireless devices - mine reduced a SONOS network to a jelly and the SONOS support guys said it was a known issue.

AFAIK there is a chromecast mkII coming out soon so are retailers just getting rid of old stock

All the rumours I've read are suggesting a different product not a replacement.

Either way, a brilliantly simple product, completely changed the way I use media on the TV. Using your phone/tablet to navigate media is far better than any not so smart TV functions and even when you have a TV you can cast to you often run into media it won't play.
