Apple are recalling 1.8 million batteries - same potential overheating problem as Dell announced last week.

2nd battery recall for my powerbook in the last 6 months (although never had any problems with it) :crazy:
 
Fingers crossed that the airlines don't ban all Apple laptops as some of them are now starting to do with Dells.
 
So what happens with all the other sony lithium ion batteries out there like my sony laptop,cameras etc ?
We all know from school how unstable lithium is.

I think it's down to the fact that these are large batteries with considerable capacity. I've not really seen to much on the smaller capacity cells.
 
I didnt know anything about this, I wandered why my battery was allways red hot:eek:
 
Interesting that most of these Li Cells (Dell, Apple, Toshiba) were made under contract by Sony. Wonder why the Vaios aren't playing up???

Dual standards or just good marketing?
