grand cherokee 1997 2.5 diesel problem

we have a 1997 grand cherokee 2.5 diesel that wont turn over, the dash shows 'water in fuel' so we drained the fuel filter which didnt really have any water in it, then the trip computer showed the coolant wanring symbol which we reset having checked the coolant system and found no problems, still it wont turn over and still it shows the same faults on the dash, anyone got any ideas?
