:D:D had my r129 300sl out the weekend with the two little love ones in the back with the top down for the first time since i've own the car (just before xmas).
Got to say what an experience i/we loved it, to look in the mirror and see them with a big smile's on their face's hands up in the air singing to the music.
Thought I'd share the happy moment i will never forget :D:D

That is what it's all about smiles and fun in your free time

Do you still have just the lap belts in the back ?

My six year old travels regularly in the back of mine so I got three point belts made up by Quickfit SBS in Yorkshire .

The same as me dog . It's the best for the buck

I can only find them in Stanmore, Middlesex, is that right?
Long way away if so, were they easy to fit?

That's them , not sure why I thought they were in Yorkshire :dk:

Seat Belt Repairs | Seat Belt Replacement | Seat Belt Refurbishment – Quick Fit SBS Ltd

Anyway , I got a quote by email - the gallery on their website shows the R129 belts - and paid by card over the phone , so didn't need to visit .

Installation was straightforward : remove rear seats , unbolt old belts and use existing mounts for bottom fixings ; drill one hole for top mounts as per supplied instructions - all in all , less than an hour to do full job .

Webbing is long enough to go round a 'large' adult , way too long for a child , otherwise absolutely superb !

Thanks Derek, looking to get an R129 towards the end of the year and it would ge great to get the kids in the back- only sticking point being that I have 3 under 6's , no problem if I leave the wife at home though :thumb:
gonna be a weekender anyway and for fun, so that should work ok.I was considering the 130 but the 129 we all know has the better rep

Bear in mind these seats , strictly speaking , aren't legal ! However , they were designed by Mercedes-Benz as child seats , so I'm happy enough putting my son in there .

They're legal for my 7 year old son now as he's over 135 cm :bannana:

Mercedes spent a small fortune on safety when designing the R129, so I wonder why they only provided lap belts in the back when it's so easy to fit 3-point ones and the difference in cost would be negligible? :dk:

My son will be seven in a couple of weeks , but just under 130cm when I last measured him a couple of months back .

Won't be long though .

True I was thinking that myself all the time and money on design and only lap belts :dk:, I will be getting the 3 point belts in time now i know where to get them.
Thanks guys
