Having moved to somewhere with a large garage outside of London I am indulging a bit my passion for cars, this having been repressed for a long time while I could only park one. Apart from my W124 and my BMW 02 (possibly to be sold), I have just bought two classics. As I can garage them, they are as cheap as chips to insure (just over £300 a year for the three including the 02).

Whoever wins gets a bottle of something decent from my cellar, which they are welcome to collect :D.

    First clue:

The first letter of the manufacturer of each car spells the initials of a prominent maker of sports cars.

Just to say that I will not comment on any entry unless totally correct, but will post a new clue on a periodic basis.

A quick trawl of t'internet reveals the only two character named sports car manufacturers of note to be AC and MG.

The question of which is more prominent depends on your definition of prominence, but I will plump for number of units manufactured and therefore I'm going with MG.

The permutations are many but I'll go with Morgan (by name and nature), and to chuck in a left-field choice, Gordon-Keeble. I think I saw you eyeing up the one at MB World last Christmas and believe it would appeal to your taste for the unusual..

    Cheers,

    Gaz

Coming to this rather late in the day, I thing gaz_l may be on to something. However, as I know you previously ran a Morgan as your main car, I find it hard to believe you'd consider one as a classic. The Gordon-Keeble is plausible, but they are rather thin on the ground.

So, I'm going to go with Matra-Talbot (Murena) and Gilbern (Invader).

Gaz of course is spot on that there are two makers with two initials that the cars are normally known by - AC & MG so MB and AM are out.

So next clue: both cars have engines made by foreign makers.
