Does anyone know who makes this wheel, and/or how much they cost new? They are fitted to my friend's BMW 540i. I know these particular ones are 18" and are split rims, with a painted wheel and polished lip..Any ideas, oh knowledgeable ones?

No idea who makes the wheel (Stealers get wary/suspicious and are not willing to help when you question them who the manufactuer/supplier of the wheels is from personal experience with MB and do not even know themselves sin some cases as I have found!). VW Stealers are the worse and one even claimed that they were not allowed to give part numbers to customers as he was too lazy to look up a part number...

My guesses are that the wheel costs £400 (ish) as is a two piece wheel.

When i get back off hols ( next friday ) , i'll ask Dads pal who owns the UK importers of BBS wheels and show him the piccy ...

I'm sure he'd have a good idea ....

Unless someone knows first .....

For all we know it may even possibly be a "replica" or "after market" wheel with just the BMW Centre Cap...

Looks like a replica wheel to me as well, but i may be wrong. Might be worth a browse on ebay.

I strongly suspect it being a "copy" to some extent of a M series wheel but the spokes are slightly different.

Inspection of back of the wheel would be an instant give away as if genuine would have a BMW part number that could be cross referenced at Stealership.

Below is a pic of a genuine 2 piece 18" wheel. Perhaps the one above is a "copy" of the one below...?

Yeah, we are pretty sure it's not an OEM wheel, and the centers have been added by the previous owner. I did tell my friend they are a bit bling, but the OEM five spokes look really naff.

Is that £695 EACH?

I presume for a set of four. My friend has the 18's, with staggered rear tyres, so as a package Im guesssing between £900-£1100.We thought they we splitties, turns out they are not

Genuine splitties are much more expensive e.g. a set of (new) 2-piece 18" AMGs for my R129 costed out at just over £4,000 with centre caps and tyres

3-piece AMGs were £4,885 as a factory option (replacing the standard 16" alloys), back in 1997!
