How easy did you find it to raise the rear lower arm back into place.

For example when the car is on stands and you jack the arm back into place is there any movement of the car on the stands? Do you compress the springs or leave them as is?

Wully,
I found it very easy to raise the arm using a 2 tonne trolley jack (Machine Mart). The arm went up in to place with minimal fuss, and the effort required was minimal comapred with that required to lift the actual car itself.

Thanks

More stable just to do one side at a time. Just make sure you jack the car up on a stand or blocks to a high enough initial level to allow the suspension arm enough downward articulation to free the spring. You may have to loosen off the shock absorber to achieve this. Use new locking nuts and washers on the inner arm mount when re-installing. Its handy to have a mate to jiggle the arm in and out to line up the arm and chassis mount holes when reinstalling the arm.

So what we are saying is raise the rear of the car on one side only?

Raise both sides of the car but only work on one arm at a time if installing new rear springs as the standard ones will be just too strong to allow the bolts to line up, without some extra weight in the boot.

Fortunately I had a body lying around....
