Has anyone installed h&r front coil springs on your w212 e63? If so have you got any photos showing side and front profile?

How does the ride compare with stock amg springs? Is it harder? Is it too low and does it scrape over road humps.

Also anyone running kw front height adjustable coilover? Again, how does the ride compare with stock amg springs?

The rears are on bags and I have the links for them, which I can set the height by adjusting the lenght. It's the fronts I'm enquiring, they have coil springs.

I had H&R on my e63 with link on the rear, ride comfort didn't change, I would've probably gone KR as they are lower but then you go into camber and toe issues and uneven wear.

didn't scrape! im sure there are some pics on here somewhere, will check later

Thanks buddy, didn't want to go too low, the bumpers are deep chinned, thought it might scrape a little over speed humps. Not heard of KR, did you mean KW? Will look into it. 👍

H&R will be perfect, yes typo on my part KW.

make sure you get wheel alignment done afterwards, also get camber adjustment bolts put in, they will save your tyres in the long run. I normally use wheels in motion for 4 wheel alignment but I've used Goodwins near you in the past and they were also good.

when lowered, did you face any issues when switching from C to S on suspension? it lowers the car by an inch-ish hence the ask

That's a valid point, need to check again. I'm sure it was on C mode. On the S211, the height adjustment is a separate button that controls all four bags. This one, w212, has springs at the front and bags at the rear. Will check again, perhaps. I didn't know it drops, assuming it's just the rear? Will double check. 👍

I remember Goodwins, only 5 minutes away. They have been around for a very long time and very well known. Will drop by. There is another garage I use, on the High Road @ Barkingside, they have Hunter.

On the S204 the KW has a minimum drop of only 5mm front and 0mm rear. The H&R drops at least 20mm.

To me I don't like lowering much as it's a pain in the backside dealing with bumps/driveways etc so I'd be using KW assuming it's a similar story for your car.

No issues with any of the modes C or S.

20221118_144238.jpgSome goodies have just arrived. I went with H&R lowering springs and hope to make a start on the suspension, hopefully this weekend. Also received delivery of my new wheels 🙂

Superb. Which alloys did you go for?
It's the same ones buddy as my S211, however opted for 10j all round with ET38 to fill the fender & arches. Last week i test fitted 10j and can confirm its very snug as shown in the photo below. Also replaced the emblems to gloss black and will eventually need to tackle the chrome around the doors. Will post up some photos lowered with new boots 👍20221112_140153.jpg

Installed the springs today, wasn't too difficult. H&R springs are much shorter compared to the stock AMG springs. Got the rear adjustable links to do but will have to wait till next week, as soon as I have a spare moment 😀20221119_134336.jpg20221119_134316.jpg

Are you also fitting new front dampers with shorter travel to accommodate the shorter springs? Or are the dampers stock?

Nice work . But please tell me you have another axle stand somewhere under the car in that photo.
Don’t worry, it’s on its jack ……….
