had fun in 55 today

Eye opening journey home today.. one of the lads at work has a ford focus ST as to which he was boasting all day that hes had it remapped/ performance exhaust etc.. by coincidence we were side by side at traffic lights entering the slip road onto a short strip of dual carriageway.. he was revving his engine like a typical boy racer, i thought to myself ill let him go. Anyway the lights hit green and surprisingly he set of at a normal pace until the slip road where he cut me up. I thought enough is enough so i floored my 55k and oh my gosh it took me by surprise.. i looked in my rearview mirror and saw a tiny ford focus in the distance.... i nearly sh.t myself as when i looked at the speedo and was braking the digital mph display was decreasing 145 140 135 etc.i didnt even realise i reached such speeds.. these cars are absolute beasts. When driving normally day to day at a pedestrian pace you dont seem to appreciate that these things are like missiles when provoked.... Great cars...

I wouldn't worry about saying a speed on a forum, it's uncorroborated.

Anyway 135-140mph is chicken feed. I managed a full fat 155mph driving home up the M1 tonight. It would have been more but Mercedes are such Pussy's with the limiter.

The OP was clearly getting mixed up as the digital display is indeed in KPH and the analogue display is MPH...
