Grrrrr
Talk about blood boiling. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Trouble is they say these things come in 3s.
Whilst you do need to make your own mind up about safety and possible loss due to insurance costs and time etc I would suggest that you pursue this with the police because:
1) The driver left the scene of an accident
2) This bloke only stopped because the car was knackered.
3) He tried to scare you away with violence when you decided to phone the police because he was uninsured.
4) He then physically attacked you.
5) He racially absused you.
6) He then lied to the police about not driving.
7) The police acknowledged that it was 'better' for you to claim on the insured driver rather than the bloke - realistic but only a short term view
8) They decided / persuaded you not to pursue the matter - which is unprofessional in my view
9) They gave out your home address
to someone who attacked you. Surely the guy only needs your insurance details and name.
Do they really need your home address? I agree the police should have this.
10) Did they take the guys details down? or just the 'drivers' (gf) They should be on the lookout for him now if they did to catch him in the act (as seen on Police Camera Action
)
What else is this guy capable of? Hopefully they can nick him for this and he'll eventually end up paying for his crimes.
Anyway have a :bannana: for defending youself and not making a lollipop out of this guy (insert own visual image here)
Best of luck with getting it all sorted and your own car back safe and sound.
Cheers
Sparky.
